What is rotational molding?
Rotational molding, or rotomolding, is a cost-effective way to produce large parts. Plastic resins are loaded into a mold that is heated as it is rotated slowly on both the vertical and the horizontal axis. This simultaneous heating and rotation distributes the material on the inner surfaces of the mold and fuses it.
Rotomolding is a four-phase process, which comprises loading, heating, cooling, and unloading the mold. In the first stage the pre-measured plastic resin is loaded into the mold. (Polyethylenes and plastisols are the most common of the many materials used in rotomolding resins.) Several molds may be loaded on a given machine at the same time.
The charged molds are then closed and moved into the oven, where they slowly rotate on two axes. As the heat penetrates the molds, the melting resin adheres to the mold’s inner surface until it is thoroughly fused, evenly coating the entire surface.
During the cooling phase, the mold continues to be rotated to maintain even walls as air, water spray, or a combination of the two gradually cools the mold. The mold is then opened, the finished part removed, and the mold is ready for its next cycle.
What is injection molding?
Injection molding is a manufacturing technique for making parts from plastic material. Molten plastic is injected at high pressure into a mold, which is the inverse of the desired shape.
The mold is made by a moldmaker from metal, usually either steel or aluminum, and precision-machined to form the features of the desired part. Injection molding is very widely used for manufacturing a variety of parts.
What is a TWC, TEC, and TMC?
The “T” Stands for Tactical – TWC = Tactical Weapons Case, TEC = Tactical Electronic Case, And TMC = Tactical Medical Case. These terms refer to our rotationally molded line of cases.
What are a PWC, PEC, and PMC?
The “P” Stands for Personal – PWC = Personal Weapons Cases, PEC = Personal Electronic Case, PMC = Personal Medical Case. These terms refer to our Injection Molded line of cases also known as Storm Case.

When should I purchase a Tactical Case (roto-molded) vs. a Personal Case (injection molded)?
Both cases are rugged, airtight, waterproof, and protect your equipment from moisture, sand, dust, salt and impact.
The tactical cases are manufactured as storage/transport containers. These cases are designed to stack firmly and have all hardware recessed for maximizing pallet and storage space. If it is long term storage or your most extreme transport, tactical should be your choice.
The personal cases are manufactured to complement the full line of tactical shipping cases. These cases are designed to be lightweight yet rugged. For the long hall with comfort and ease, personal should be your choice.
How many rotationally molded cases are there?
As of July 2005 there are currently over 400 various sized rotationally molded cases. Through continuous innovation and customer input we continuously add new sizes.
How many injection-molded cases are there?
As of November 2007, there are currently 22 different models of various sized injection molded cases. Through continuous innovation and market analysis, we continuously add new models and options.

Which size case is right for me?
The cases size depends on two things the size of your contents and the sensitivity of the equipment. Generally, it is recommended that you add and additional 1-inch around the content’s perimeter dimensions for the non-sensitive equipment; and 2-inches around the contents perimeter dimensions for sensitive equipment. This additional space allows for the cubed or custom foam to aid in cushioning, protecting, and securing the equipment.
Can your cases be imprinted?
Yes our cases can be imprinted. We use special inks that are specifically intended for our products.
What additional foam options can I get for the Hardigg Case product line?
